Vietnam Bible College June 2023

The Mekong River

Richard L. Hamm Ministries continues to have new opportunities to minister. Dr. Hamm was in Vietnam during the month of June teaching  a graduate course for the Vietnam Bible College of the Assemblies of God in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). The Vietnam Assemblies of God has existed for three  decades and has functioned as an unofficial and unrecognized denomination by the government. In 2019, the communist government of Vietnam officially recognized the Vietnam Assemblies of God. This approval allows for the construction of church buildings, Bible Schools and the execution of other activities to further the Kingdom of God. Obviously, this is such a monumental blessing for the fellowship to finally be officially legal.

Dr. Hamm, Dr. Barclift and Graduate Students: Ya, Hien, Linh, and Debra

Approximately nine percent of the country identifies as Christian or Catholic and two percent of the nine percent identify as evangelical. There is a strong Catholic affiliation due to the French presence in Vietnam during the early twentieth century. Obviously, there is much work to be done. RLHM would like to thank Dr. Mark Barclift and Global University for the invitation for Dr. Hamm to teach the graduate course. Dr. Hamm looks forward to returning to Vietnam to continue being a part of what God is doing there. It is such an honor for RLHM to partner with Global University.

The Bible School presently has students enrolled in the undergraduate program and the first cohort in the English speaking graduate program. Dr. Hamm had the privilege of teaching The Bible As Literature which is a core course for the graduate students. The school is anticipating growth and increased enrollment in the coming months. Please pray with us for God’s blessings.
