Dr. Richard L. Hamm
Dr. Richard L. Hamm has been married to his high school sweetheart, Anita since February 1976. They have three grown children and eleven grandchildren. They have been in Christian ministry since 1976. Dr. Hamm is the founder and president of Richard L. Hamm Ministries. Dr. Hamm has served as a lead pastor for over 46 years. He pastored Lakeview Church in Charlotte, NC for 28 years. Dr. Hamm serves as an international educator, speaker, and oversees all aspects of RLHM. Dr. Hamm earned the degree of Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary and has earned graduate and undergraduate degrees. Dr. Hamm has traveled in 63 countries.
Our History
Richard L. Hamm Ministries was launched in 2000 through the missionary travels of Dr. Richard L. Hamm that began in 1986. The beginning years of missions ministry was given to construction trips and church planting. It was not until 2000, when Dr. Hamm was asked to teach a graduate course on the exegetical process of preaching at Cape Theological Seminary in Cape Town, South Africa that the understanding of what God was calling him to do was realized. It was at this time that Dr. Hamm understood that God was calling him into a world-wide teaching and training ministry.
The greatest emphasis would be placed on training leaders in biblical leadership principals through schools of ministry and leadership conferences. Since that revelation was realized and understood, God has opened and continues to open exciting doors of opportunity to teach and to train. RLHM has trained thousands of leaders around the world. Only God knows the exponential numbers who have benefited from decades of teaching and training. We are filled with great expectation as we continue to fulfill the call of God. This is such a needed ministry around the world. There are so many who do not have sound biblical teaching. Not because they do not want to be trained, but because of the lack of resources and the availability of training. RLHM was founded to help meet this need to provide a means to educate and train passionate men and women of God, who need resources and guidance to build and maintain a functional, growing, Christ-centered church.
RLHM is called to prepare and equip leaders around the world to have maximum impact for the kingdom of God. We are accomplishing this in a variety of ways. First, we are partnering with various ministries and churches around the world to provide leadership training conferences that teach the foundational components of effective biblical leadership. Secondly, Dr. Hamm serves as an adjunct professor with several seminaries in numerous countries to teach graduate courses on leadership, exegetical preaching, pastoral theology, and missions. Additionally, we have schools of ministry providing certificate and diploma level training that allows students the opportunity to continue their spiritual growth and development.
